Day 01: Arrival at Cochin
On arrival, you will be met by a travel representative who will assisit you in transferring to Cochin city by road. Cochin is a happening city situated on the south-west coast of Kerala, popularly known as God’s Own Country. The city n has earned many sobriquets namely, ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’ and ‘Gateway of Kerala’. Cochin is the strating point for experiencing the unsurpassed beauty and wonders of Kerala. Day 02: Cochin Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the chinese fishing nets which are one of its kinds. These are fixed land installations used for fishing. These nets are commonly found in Southern China, but in India, it is maninly found in southern state of Kerala. They are now a popular tourist attraction due to its enormous size and graceful construction. Next, visit Jew town Synagogue which is exquistely decorated with Chinese tiles and Belgian Chandeliers. This is the only one out of the seven synagogues in this area which is still in use. Subsequently, visit the Dutch Palace which has a fascinating collection of mural paintings showcasing scenes from the Hindu epics Mahabharata and Ramayana, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi. Thereafter, visit Hill Palace which houses an archeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park and a children’s park. Within the premises of the museum several rare species of medicinal plants are exhibited. Evening at leisure. Stay overnight in Cochin.
Day 03: Cochin to Munnar (130 Kms/4 hrs)
After a hearty breakfast, drive to Munnar. The latter boasts of lush green tea plantations all round. Besides this, Munnar possesses serpentine lanes, lofty hills and verdant forests. Check into the hotel and make yourself comfortable. Begin your sightseeing tour of Munnar by visiting the tea gardens. The aroma of tea leaves emanating from the gardens will truly revive your jaded spirits. Thereafter, visit Tea Museum which exhibits the growth of more- than- a- century- old tea plantations in this region. The visitor gets an insight into the arduous tea processing mechanism carried here. Next, visit Devikulam which will mesmerize you with its lush green vegetation, flowers in different hues, birds chirping in their natural tunes. The calm and serene lake positioned in the midst of Devikulam is clean and transparent. Henceforth, visit Mattupetty which is an amusing place for nature lovers. The lake, the dam and lush green lawns present in Mattupetty are idyllic picnic spots. Continue your journey to Ernakulam National Park which protects the endangered mountain goat known as Nilgiri Tahr and is adorned with rolling grasslands. At the end of Munnar tour, visit the top station from where a beautiful vista of Western Ghats and the valley of Theni can be had. In the evening; shop at the nearby places. Stay overnight at Munnar.
Day 04: Munnar to Thekkaddy (110Kms/3.5 hrs)
After a sumptuous breakfast, drive to Thekkady. Thekkady is famous for the Wild Life Sanctuary and spice plantations. Check into the hotel. Get ready for a sightseeing tour in Thekkady. Visit Spice garden and soak yourself in the aroma of various spices like cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, turmeric etc. Enjoy a massaging session by engaging in Kalaripayattu, an Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment. The latter involves, at first inflict pain on the customer and then subsequently, heal the person from pain. Chronic ailments like Spondylitis or Arthritis can be cured through this traditional method of healing. Thereafter, witness Kathakali a traditional dance drama performed by the eminent artists. Next, a boat ride in the Periyar Lake which is located near the Periyar National Reserve will be a rejuvenating experience. Day 05: Thekkady to Alleppey (135 Kms/4.5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey. Embark on a cruise in a houseboat on the backwaters of Alleppey. Day 6: Alleppey To Cochin (70 km/1.5 hrs)
After the morning breakfast, check out from the houseboat and drive to Cochin. Thereafter, transfer to the railway station/bus stand/airport to connect your flight back home or for an onward journey.
